WDB Growth Fund

Through the WDB Growth Fund, WDBIH will invest in QSE’s and EME’s. Funding is targeted at women and youth owned businesses who require funding to assist in the operating and financial development of their businesses.

Supplier Development programme

A supplier development programme ran by Seed Engine to accelerate entrepreneurs to grow and scale their businesses.

The programme entails training, business development support, access to market, mentoring etc. This programme runs for 12 months.

AccelerateHer programme

WDBIH sponsors the prize money for this 90-day accelerator programme designed to fast track the development of women-owned business while taking into account the specific psych-social issues women face.

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

Provide opportunities for young people to realise their full potential, by encouraging, supporting and guiding them to engage in pro-social, meaningful, and community-enhancing activities.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

WDBIH launched its inaugural internship programme in August 2017, recruiting 10 interns with Finance/Accounting undergraduate qualifications. The internship programme was established with the objective of addressing the increasing rate of youth unemployment in the country.

YOUTH MENTORSHIP

WDBIH engages with various youth organisations which are involved in addressing educational, socio-economic, self-empowerment issues within their communities. These organisations require guidance, mentoring and financial support in order to pursue these projects.

PRIMESTARS

WDBIH is one of the key sponsors of the ‘My Future, My Career’ initiative facilitated by Primestars. The initiative featured career guidance movies which were showcased in cinemas countrywide to 14 000 leaners from disadvantaged high schools.

Also through Primestars, WDBIH sponsors the ‘Step Up 2 A Start Up’ initiative. This is an entrepreneurial programme which inspires and upskills South African secondary school leaners to find innovative solutions to society’s most pressing social and environmental problems. The programme has catered for 47 000 leaners in grade 10-12 across the country.

THUTHUKA BURSARY FUND

Through the Thuthuka Bursary Fund, WDBIH provides scholarships to solely to African and Coloured students from disadvantaged communities, in pursuit of becoming Chartered Accountants.

OPRAH WINFREY LEADERSHIP ACADEMY FOR GIRLS (OWLAG)

WDBIH provides scholarships for OWLAG students who are furthering their studies in various universities across the country.

To provide university scholarships for learners studying towards qualifications related to scarce and critical skills in the country.

DIALOGUES & EVENTS
