Modula has five years’ commercial legal experience and ten years’ specialist experience in development impact investments – profitable investments which deliver significant social/developmental and environmental impact to the South African economy. Modula has been strategic in the creation of numerous development investment funds mandated to make sustainable investments in the SME sector in South Africa. She has a collective 15 years’ worth of extensive corporate law, corporate finance, infrastructure finance, and development financing. Modula is a former Independent Non-Executive Director of Merchant West Holdings (Pty) Ltd, Identity Development Fund Managers (Pty) Ltd and Black Lite Consulting (Pty) Ltd; and is a member of the Sirdar Governance Panel in South Africa. She presided over several Investment Committees and Advisory Boards of investment management entities including, but not limited to, Utho Capital, Identity Development Partners Fund Managers (IDF) and Enablis Finance Corporation.
She holds a BA (Law) and an LL.B degree, attained in 1997 and 1999 respectively; and is currently completing her thesis in MPhil Development Finance with the Stellenbosch University Business School.
